1. School Profile

  • Abbot of Wat Pa Ngio, Sam Khok District, Pathum Thani Province initiated the establishment of Samkhok School by inviting parents of students in Sam Khok district dnd nearby districts to the meeting at Wat Pa Ngiu on March 28, 1960 to discuss the establishment of an extraordinary high school within the Pa Ngio Temple area. The temple is willing to donate 12 rai of land and Fund. Pathum Thani province ordered to start teaching on May 26, 1960. On the opening day, there were 9 male and female students.


  • Later in the year 1964, teachers student’s parent And Phrakhru Thavornkitkosol, abbot of Wat Pa Ngiu providing 100,000 baht to support the construction of a 216 school building by laying the foundation stone of the school building on February 22th, 1964 by the Governor of Pathum Thani Province, Mr. Poonsawat. Later in the fiscal year 1965, received the budget for the cost of land and construction in the amount of 200,000 baht to add to the construction of the school building. 

               

  • Samkhok School has transferred to the Pathumthani Provincial Administration Organization on May 7th, 2009 and received the budget for the year 2010 as a construction cost for a 7-floor school building, 2 school building, and 1 multipurpose building.

2. Academic Support System

Classroom

  • Teachers provides group work to increase the spirit of solidarity and working together of students .

  • In addition, the teacher also keep track of each student's progress. If she notices that a student is left behind, she will be able to catch up by giving more specific examples. Student improvement is being monitored through a series of activities that will keep their attention.

After-class

  • The school provides space in each building to help students exchange lessons and work in groups as well as reading books.

Technology

  • One thing that impressed me was the school has high speed internet connection. There are also computers, projectors, speakers, microphones, etc. in each classroom, where students and teachers are free to use it for classroom discussion.

  • They also have computer rooms and function rooms where students can use them for educational purposes.

3.  Teaching system

  • Classes are held from Monday to Friday. Every morning, before the start of the class, the school always plays music . Each subject has a duration of 50 minutes. At 7:45 am, students and teachers participated in the flag-raising ceremony. After the ceremony, students head back to their classroom and wait for the first class to begin at 8:20 am. All first class ends at 9:10 am and students are allowed to go out in 10 minutes. After recess, students will return to class and attend two or three more classes in the morning until noon. Students then line up after their final time in the morning and walk to the school canteen to eat lunch provided by the school . When the clock scores at 12:50 am, students and teachers return to the classroom to complete the remaining 4 classes in the afternoon. All classes end at 4:25 pm.

  • The school also has a dress code. On every Tuesday, all teachers will wear blue costumes. Wednesday is a sports day, all students and teachers wear gymnastics. Every Friday, teachers and students will wear traditional Thai costumes.

​

  • Lunch times for 2 levels at Samkhok are different. The school has two canteens, one for middle school and one for high school. Secondary school students will eat at 11:05 am, high school students will eat at 12 am. This helps the canteens not to be congested when it's time to eat.

​

  • To check attendance for each class, the school also has an advanced fingerprint scanning system for teachers and student face scanning.

Samkhok teachers not only rely on paper tests. They integrate activities, individuals and groups, which can help students learn better and more effectively. They teach STEM method, help students be active in learning and teachers play a supporting role. In order to measure and assess authentically, the goals that students must achieve are based on the curriculum of the school and Thailand. The following are examples of school measurement and evaluation:​

6. General Curriculum 

  • The curriculum that used by Sam Khok School is The Basic Education Core Curriculum B.E. 2551 (A.D. 2008).


  • The Basic Education Core Curriculum has therefore prescribed the following eight learning areas:
